The Beginning

This was the initial email that was sent out to inform everyone of Kim's diagnosis.

It is with regret, that I send you the sad new of Kim Kennedy's diagnosis of Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma on January 3, 2010. Many of you are very close to Kim and some may be wondering who is this  person Kim Kennedy and who is Everybody's Brother?

My name is Tom Clancy. Kim Kennedy is My Brother. If you know him, then Kim is Your Brother. I have created the website www.EverybodysBrother.com to update all of you on Kim's condition, medical status and to ask for your financial assistance. As all of you that know Kim, he is a self-employed fashion photographer by trade and a amazing person by heart. He is married with a beautiful four year old daughter. Being a healthy marathon running individual he never dreamed this would happen to him. It seems cancer is for others and not for oneself. That is something we would all like to believe, but we know not to be true.

Being self-employed, Kim did not have any type of short-term or long-term disability insurance in case of a catastrophic accident or severe medical condition. It is with this, that I ask of your assistance. Kim will be receiving chemotherapy treatments for the next six months at a minimum. With luck and a lot of prayer, he will pull through in amazing Kim Kennedy fashion and bounce right back. However, there is always the flip side to that coin and it may take a little longer.
