Kim Kennedy...my brother...your brother...
EVERYBODY'S BROTHER!
March 19, 2011
A day to remember. Today we gathered in Amory Woods Sanctuary. It is the park where Kim brings Misha to play and also where he fell to his seizure last August. Today we were brought here to bring Kim closer to God and to bring his spirit peace.
The location was chosen by Misha. She is very familiar with every inch of the park. She found this stone a long time ago, but did not give it a second thought other than to play on it. It was a stone placed there by the Town of Brookline in honor of Jo Albrecht who watched over the park. It could not have been more perfect for today's ceremony.
Today, the stone would serve as the sitting place for Kim to have Jesus look after him. This was a special event. An event that can only take place when there is something bigger than life happening in what we view as the background, which is actually the foreground of all of our thoughts. Today is the Buddhist New Year. Today has a full moon. Today is full of love, friendship and belief that we are in control of our destiny, that we are given gifts and it is our choice what we choose to do with them.
A longtime friend of Kim's, Matt Kelley, an ordained minister, blessed us with a a very personal baptism of Kim in front of a very intimate crowd. We stood and watched as Kim listened to every word that Matt had prepared, absorbing the message as a flower absorbs the sunlight. Each of us had goose-pimples as Kim had tears falling down his cheeks. Today was a day that he had been looking forward to for a lifetime, one that He had been waiting on since Kim's birth.
One of Matt's messages was about the commonality of the three's. Yesterday, today & tomorrow. The Father, The Son & The Holy Ghost. Birth, Life & Death. The forces behind us today were breathtaking. We wanted to share it and have placed the entire baptism for your viewing at:
